One of my heroines died Sunday, December 16. Please read Vivek Tiwary's In Memory of Debbie Geller, on his blog in The Fifth Beatle Movie's main website. Debbie Geller was the author of the most awesome book on Brian Epstein ever written, In My Life:The Brian Epstein Story, which was the companion book to the 1999 BAFTA-winning BBC Arena Special, The Brian Epstein Story. This book was every bit as wonderful as Ray Coleman's The Man Who Made The Beatles. If you've never read either of those masterpieces ~ well, what are you waiting for?! Like Alistair Taylor, Debbie Geller was a Brian admirer that I shall always regret never having had the pleasure of meeting and shmoozing with.

Perhaps this is where I should have aksed whether someone knows where I could get my hands on that documentary about Brian.
I agree that "In My Life" is a great book! Highly recommended.

Jenny ~~ What a pest you are. j/k!!! I believe I had stated in a few old LJ posts that the VHS I had acquired a few years back was one that an Englishman had taped directly off his TV and then converted to US format ~ bad, bad quality, but at least it was the authentic Arena show that wasn't ruined by A&E/Biography! Then about a year or so ago, I found an online source selling the bootleg DVD! Our lovely Lady Effingbroke had discovered it and fortunately I was able to buy one! So FYI The Brian Epstein Story is not available commercially. If I'm able to hunt down that boot source again, I'll send you an LJ message on it, okay? BTW, a couple years back I had read of a film festival where they were showing A DIRECTORS CUT of this same 2-part Arena special we are speaking of here. You do know what a Directors Cut is. I would kill for a DVD of that. Augh. I've been having some issues with this new monitor not being as compatible with the lovely but older cpu tower. Among other problems, a huge blue screen scared the wombats outa me a little earlier ~ the system wants me to install a different graphics driver ~ but when I get to the Intel site, it tells me to be careful that my BIOS is the most updated one, or else I may face doom by installing new drivers. So that's one reason why I'm not right on the ball with taking care of you guys. Wouldn't it be nice to be rich? Sorry. Christine~ your faithful eppylover
