BEATLES' FINANCIER NEIL ASPINALL LEAVES £7M IN WILL
From The Times July 28, 2008
Neil Aspinall, the finance expert behind the Beatles, has left nearly £7 million to his family in his will.
Mr Aspinall, 66, a father of five who ran the group’s business empire for 40 years, died of lung cancer in March.
As a young man he earned £1 an hour fending off screaming girls and driving the band across the North West in their battered blue Commer van.
Probate records show that he left a net estate of £6,947,818. His fortune has been left in trust with the income going to his wife, Suzy, for her lifetime.
Mr. Aspinall, who was a schoolfriend of Paul McCartney and George Harrison at the Liverpool Institute for Boys, never betrayed the trust of the Beatles by talking about his years with them.

After overseeing their rise to fame, he joined the management of Apple Corps, which ran the Beatles’ music empire. As head of Apple he presided over the release of three successful Anthology albums and the Greatest Hits collection, One.
