Well folks, the Macca tour machine is about to kick-off. Paul will be touring once again this year. It looks like this tour promises to be his biggest and best yet. If the Liverpool Capital of Culture celebration is any indication of things to come, it looks like the setlist will hold some surprises, and a few new tunes.

Paul and his band are in tip-top touring shape. This may be your last chance to see Paul McCartney in-person. Yes, folks all good things come to an end. But Paul will kick up a hell of a farewell party for us all. It looks like there may be an announcement soon regarding particulars about his upcoming tour.

Here’s what we’ve read.

Paul McCartney’s next world tour will be his last - so he can spend more time wi th daughter Beatrice.

The former Beatle is about to announce plans for a colossal two-year tour. The huge string of dates, starting this autumn, will be one of the biggest rock tours of all time. Macca is expected to make £110million from the planned 100 gigs - more than £1m per show.

It will be his biggest tour since 1989-90 when he played 108 shows in Europe, the US, Japan and Brazil.

The tour will be in stages, taking in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia. The first dates will be announced in the next few weeks.

Beatrice, four, will join her dad - 66 this month - for sections of the tour.

Macca revealed his plan to close friends and family last weekend at his triumphant City Of Culture gig in his home town of Liverpool.

A source said: “Paul explained that this tour will be the last big one. He wants to settle down and enjoy Beatrice’s childhood.

“The tour will be the last time he performs in many parts of the world. Beatrice and his family life are going to come first. He does not want to be away for months at a time.”

The other woman in Macca’s life - his new love, American socialite Nancy Shevell - will join him for much of the tour, aides have been told.

Nancy, 48, will see Paul play a free concert in Kiev, Ukraine, next Saturday.

Paul had long planned to make a final world tour but was waiting to get his divorce from Beatrice’s mum Heather Mills out of the way. The two reached a £25million settlement in March.

Macca’s last major tour, in 2002, netted him £63million for just 58 shows.

Paul will get more than £1million from each of the planned 100 per formances on one of the biggest rock tours ever.

Four-year-old Beatrice will fly out to join her dad for parts of the tour.

Go-ahead had to wait for end of divorce proceedings.

Music legend Sir Paul McCartney is planning a massive farewell tour, it was claimed today.

According to Britain's Sunday Mirror newspaper, the former Beatle, 65, is set to announce a hundred-date stretch over two years. He will then retire from large-scale international touring to spend more time with his 4-year-old daughter with ex-wife Heather Mills, Beatrice.

A source reveals, "Paul explained that this tour will be the last big one. He wants to settle down and enjoy Beatrice's childhood.

"The tour will be the last time he performs in many parts of the world. Beatrice and his family life are going to come first. He does not want to be away for months at a time."

Paul last week played a gig to 36,000 fans in his native, Liverpool.

SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY reportedly scrapped plans for a 2009 world tour - because he couldn't bear to be parted from his five-year-old daughter BEATRICE. The former Beatle is currently promoting his latest album Electric Arguments, which was released under his alter-ego, The Fireman, last year (08).

And McCartney is said to have planned a series of live dates across the globe in connection with the LP, but subsequently put the idea on hold so as not to disrupt his everyday routine with his youngest daughter, from his relationship with ex-wife Heather Mills.

A source tells British newspaper the Daily Express, "Paul and Beatrice have a real routine going, there's no way he'll disrupt that. Paul has enjoyed touring in the past but right now the priority is definitely Beatrice. He couldn't bear the thought of being away from her for any stretch of time so a full-length tour is out. He much prefers doing one-off shows."

McCartney was recently announced as the headline act for the upcoming Coachella festival in California in April (09).

Sir Paul McCartney plans to embark on an ''unusual'' farewell world tour next year
before retiring from the music industry.


Sir Paul McCartney wants to retire with a huge farewell world tour next year.

The 67-year-old Beatles legend is planning to play at a host of "unusual" locations before walking away from performing large scale shows.

A source said: "Paul wants to go out with a bang. He's played countless stadiums over his 50-year career and is on the hunt for the most unusual locations he can find.

"He realises the older he gets, the less his body will be able to cope with the demands of extended periods on the road. He might play the odd benefit concert - but other than that he'll be putting his feet up and enjoying retirement."

Discussions about which cities Paul will play at are already underway and a host of landmark locations have already been earmarked.

The Hello Goodbye hitmaker is keen to perform at China's Tiananmen Square and Checkpoint Charlie - the name given to the best known crossing point at the Berlin Wall, which was torn down in 1989 - while several dates in Brazil have been penciled in for next April.

The source added to Britain's The Sun newspaper: "The tour in 2010 is likely to last well over a year, by which time Paul will be getting close to 70. He's making enquiries about a number of special locations and he's keen to play in China and Checkpoint Charlie."

Sir Paul McCartney has slammed reports his next tour in 2010 will be his last.


The Beatles legend was reportedly in negotiations to set up a series ofconcerts across the globe to mark his retirement from the road.

He was scheduling stops at China's famous Tiananmen Square and Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin, Germany - the famous crossing point of the Berlin Wall when the country was divided during the Cold War - on the route next year (10), according to the tabloid rumours.

But McCartney has hit back at the claims, insisting he plans to play live for as long as he can.

He says, "All I can say is that I'm not retiring. It's like 'Paul is dead'. 'No, I'm not,' is all I could say. I did talk about retirement in one sentence in one story and only to say 'No way, Jose.' But someone must have only read part of that one sentence.

"As long as people want to come and hear me, I'll probably be doing this. It's just so easy to start rumours".
