Dear Christine
Many thanks for taking the time to email me at Liverpool City Council. The motion to Council in the names of Cllr Eddie Clien and myself was accepted, so it looks like we may get a lasting tribute to Brian, although I am not sure what form it will take, or which location will be chosen.
I am a big Beatles fan and have the honour of being Lord Mayor of Liverpool this year (from May 08 to May 9). I will obviously use my position to push forward this initiative.
Once again many thanks for your support.

Excellent response. Having worked in local councils over here, I know just how much it takes to get any kind of comment from the Mayor of even a small town. To get a response from the Lord Mayor of Liverpool shows he really believes in the cause. Good work all!

Yeah, it took 40 years, but society has finally become civilized enough realize that being gay (or Jewish) are damn stupid reasons to throw someone's life and accomplishments into the waste bin and ignore them.
I'll bet the Lord Mayor will attend the Fifth Beatle Movie premiere!

Heard you today on City Talk and was very surprised that you came from my old school Ruffwood. It is actually closed now I think they are having one last reunion there in July this year. I am originally from Kirkby too and still have relations there. Was nice to hear you on the radio and keep up the good work for the City of Liverpool I loved the Beatles too and went to see Sir Paul McCartney at the Liverpool Sound Anfield 1st June what a fabulous concert he gave too !!!! |
