Situating these pictures next to each other was obviously meant to be a joke.
Edward Jay Epstein is a famous American journalist ~ also the author of thirteen books, including Inquest: The Warren Commission and the Establishment of Truth. He is currently writing a book about the 9/11 Commission. .
Somebody noticed a similarity between the pose in the two photos and, for giggles, stuck the name "Brian" in front of Edward's name.

I was hoping to get a response from you Eppylover. Yes, I tried searching the internet about this "Brian" Edward Jay Epstein, and I kept getting the same information -- Edward Jay Epstein, a journalist (without the "Brian"). I kept on getting the name Edward Jay Epstein whenever I would do a search. I was not sure if the photo was the same person (journalist). I also e-mailed the person who put the photos together but have not received a response.
Seeing it from your point of view, it does appear to be a joke--and a very misleading one. A person seeing those photos together for the first time would arouse one's curiosity if there is a connection between the two, unless the person is familiar with the identity of the latter Brian.
I thought about taking down the photo, but then I thought "who knows?" What if there is a very distant connection between the two somewhere in the lineage that is yet to be discovered? It would be very interesting if they are (were) relatives. I think to really know for sure is for both families to research their ancestry to see if they are related. As you well know, "Epstein" is a well known name. To me, Edward Jay Epstein has some similar facial features as Brian Epstein. He even has the light colored eyes like Eppy. There may be a possibility. Thank you Eppylover.

Yes, I noticed that, too, Eppylover, when I looked at foxbase's photos. It seems he (or she) has the time to pair the photos together. For me, I would find that very time consuming trying to search for photos and align them with similar ones. I would not spend the time to do that unless there is some relevance or important contribution that may be helpful for those who see it. I really do not have the time. Perhaps, the flickr user wanted attention? ;D
