The Beatles sign inside the HMV store in the new Liverpool One shopping center. BEATLES SIGN FOR HMV STORE RE-BRANDapprovedbusiness.co.uk Date: 17/02/2009 John Anthony Signs recently completed a massive curved window graphic for HMV’s Liverpool store. The 11 metre x 7 metre black and white graphic was copied from a photograph taken during the Beatle’s heyday in the 1960’s and features the ‘fab four’ in their trademark suits and haircuts. The graphic was created by John Anthony Signs for HMV as it is an iconic symbol of the music industry and being particularly relevant to Liverpool where the band started their domination of the global music scene. The massive graphic is inside the main window of the store and was designed to fit the bend in the window. Installation was undertaken in August 2008 and took a team from John Anthony Signs just two days. www.approvedbusiness.co.uk/ViewArticle_2036.aspxwww.askjas.co.uk/news.htm#hmvbeatles

That's one heck of a graphic!!! HMV released special edition 'boxed' sets in 1987, when the Beatles came into the compact disc realm. Judging by the items this company has put out over the years, you know they consider their Beatles merchandise as a major 'cash cow!' I own 3 of the 1987 editions: "Sgt. Peppers, Magical Mystery Tour, Abbey Road." Both Pepper & MMT I found last year at a local record shop. I had some buying credit, so that knocked the price down a bit. Both were opened & used, but had all the 'parts' intact. MMT came with a poster, of the Beatles in their white tuxedos! Each HMV set was also issued (to my knowledge) with a button/pin to wear. Abbey Road I recently bought (This post was a stroke of great luck & timing, Yerblues ) un-opened off Ebay. cgi.ebay.com/The-BEATLES-Magical-Mystery-Tour-HMV-CD-box-set-new_W0QQitemZ260301533184QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMusic_CDsI'm still a bit of a greenhorn, when it comes to posting. Maybe in the future I can take pictures/scan these items for you all to see. Till then...
