Gordon Brown revealed the influential arranger and composer has been on the guest list at Chequers over the past year. He joined a weekend party to celebrate British achievements in arts, popular culture and sports. Aides said Mr. Brown regarded the 82-year-old as a “massive figure” in the development of Britain’s distinctive pop back catalogue. It's the Prime Minister who decides who gets the MBE's and OBE's and Knighthoods.
What a golden opportunity for Sir George to put a long-overdue bug in the ear of Gordon Brown ~ why can't he talk him into giving our Brian what he deserves, albeit posthumously?
