The sixth and final installment of Bruce Spizer's books on the Beatles American records shall be released in March, 2007. The Beatles Swan Song: "She Loves You" & Other Records covers all of the group's U.S. releases on labels that had the rights to only a limited number of Beatles recordings. It is the first book to accurately tell the stories behind the Beatles discs released by Swan, United Artists, Decca, MGM, Atco and Polydor. It also has an extensive section on Capitol Records in the 70s & 80s, which details the Capitol theme albums such as Rock 'N' Roll Music, Love Songs and Reel Music, as well as The Beatles At The Hollywood Bowl, Rarities and the unreleased Sessions LP.
Additional sections cover dubious releases such as The Savage Young Beatles and the Star-Club album, the high-end Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab LPs and the record club albums. There are also sections updating the Vee-Jay, Capitol and Apple books with new and exciting information and images.
The book is identical in format to the other titles in the series. It is a deluxe hardcover tome measuring 9" x 12" and has over 900 images, all in full color or original black & white. The standard book is priced at $50.00. The Numbered Edition will be signed and numbered up to 500, with preference going to 498 customers who previously purchased numbered editions. Every effort will be made to give collectors their same number. However, if two individuals have the same number in different titles, preference for the number will be given to the person having the number in the Capitol set. Numbers shall be held until December 31, 2006, at which time all unclaimed numbers shall be issued to those who did not previously have a numbered edition on a first to order basis. The Numbered Edition is priced at $50.00.
The Collector's Edition, priced at $125.00, is numbered up to 200. The number preference system for this limited edition shall be the same as that for the Numbered Edition. The Collector's Edition comes with two posters containing images of the singles and albums depicted in the book, a bookmark, a replica of a rare Capitol promotional flyer from early 1964 and a set of 8" x 10" photos of the Beatles receiving Swan and United Artists in-house gold record awards taken by the legendary William "PoPsie" Randolph.
Both the Numbered Edition and Collector's Edition are available exclusively through 498 Productions. In addition, those who purchase the Swan book from 498 Productions may also purchase a custom slipcase ($20.00) to hold the Vee-Jay book and the Swan book. Quantities are limited, so order early to avoid disappointment.
VEE-JAY BOOK SOLD OUT. The Beatles Records on Vee-Jay has sold out and is trading hands on ebay for over $400. The Capitol books and the collector's editions of all titles are almost gone too. Order now to avoid disappointment.
