Sean Lennon was born in New York City on October 9, 1975 (his father’s 35th birthday). John Lennon put his musical career on hold to raise his son. Sean’s godfather is Elton John.
At 16 years old Sean and Lenny Kravitz, who was 21 at the time, rewrote John’s song Give Peace A Chance to reflect on society in the Cold War era. He and his mother invited their friends to participate in a video for the song. The star studded video included Randy Newman, Lenny Kravitz, Cyndi Lauper, Michael “Duff” McKagan, Peter Gabriel, Michael “Flea” Balzary and his daughter Clara Balzary, Sebastian Bach, MC Hammer, LL Cool J, Iggy Pop, Tom Petty, ETAL.
