(Originally posted 5/1/06 7:19 am) My name is Christine and I am proud to have been chosen to be Administrator of this board. I've been in awe of Brian Epstein ever since I was 13 years old and first saw him presenting and interviewing British personalities on the "Hullabaloo London" segments on TV in 1964. Nearly from Day One, Eppy has been my fave Beatle. I attended his Boys' 1966 Detroit concert, also featuring The Cyrkle, The Ronettes, Bobby Hebb, and The Remains. If you're curious about the eppylover, personally, here is more residing on my "home planet" ~ also attached to my journal if you're so inclined. My LJ Profile But here on this board is where the action is for this movie! Please feel free to post on this forum all your Eppy-related thoughts, suggestions, links, etc. There are a few simple rules to follow, but that's just to make things easier and more enjoyable for everyone. Most importantly, what this forum is all about ~ the upcoming motion picture, The Fifth Beatle~!!! We're all very excited about it, as you can well imagine! The script has been written and the wheels are indeed moving ~ see screenwriter/producer Vivek Tiwary's blog and news for details ~ HINT: scroll to the bottom and start with the earliest-dated entries if you're unfamiliar with the goings-on ~ And welcome, Beatles and Brian admirers!

Oh, the new boards are looking great! Hi everyone, I'm Van. I've not been as involved in Brian recently, but I am very looking forward to the new movie and seeing Brian finally getting honored as due. Well, not that the movie will be enough, in my opinion, but it's definitely a step in the right direction.

Hi
I'm Vivek, the screenwriter and producer of "The Fifth Beatle." Thanks so much for your interest in my project, and for helping to get discussions on the message boards going! More info on why I'm making this movie can be found in the Blog section of the site.
A film is truly a collaborative effort, and I want everyone on the boards to know that they are an important part of this film! I read and pay attention to EVERYONE'S thoughts and suggestions as posted here on the boards-- even if I don't always have the time to chime in with a reply.
So these discussions WILL have an impact on the final film, I assure you...
Thanks Again!

Hello my name is Kelly
I have been learning all about Brian from Christine. I think she knows more about him than even he knew about himself! I am interested in how the movie will turn out. I hope the people working on it have a chance to talk with Christine aka eppylover.

Hello. Actually, I knew nothing about this website/forum. I knew nothing about a Brian Epstein movie. So, how did I come to this place? The Administrator by the name of Eppylover--found me! I am on a campaign to help get Brian Epstein inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Non Performers Section. I advertise it, as well as The Fest For The Beatles Fans (formerly Beatlefest, who are sponsoring the campaign to get Brian inducted), and the Liverpool Capital of Culture 2008, on my YouTube channel. The Fest For The Beatles Fans is the largest convention of Beatles items. Every year they hold their Beatles conventions in the United States. This year they will be held in New York (March 28-30), Las Vegas, NV (June 29-July 1), and Chicago, IL (August 8-10). The Liverpool Capital of Culture 2008 is a yearlong event having various entertainers and other festivities. Ringo Starr was at the Capital of Culture on Saturday, January 12th to open the Liverpool The Musical at the Liverpool Arena. Ringo Starr appreciated Liverpool being THE PLACE TO BE as THE CAPITAL OF CULTURE, that he wrote and performed his new single, "Liverpool 8" to honor the event. Paul McCartney will be at the Capital of Culture on Sunday, June 1st with other artists to perform at the Liverpool Sound Concert at Anfield Football Stadium. Apparently, Eppylover must have found one of my comments posted on a Brian Epstein video, asking the public to sign the petition to help Brian Epstein get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I requested the public to either visit the Official Brian Epstein website or click the link on my channel that would take them there. Sometime afterwards, I received an e-mail in my channel inbox explaining herself as the Administrator of The Fifth Beatle Movie Forum and invited me to take a look at the website and the forum. At first, I did not think I would be interested; and, I really did not know much about the Administrator. But after visiting a few times, I thought I would give it a try. Really, I did not think it would spark much interest in me. I am already busy with other activities. But after reviewing some of the comments, especially from those in charge of this "labor of love" to Mr. Epstein, I started thinking this is something huge. This is not a fluke project. So, anyone reading this forum should realize this is a serious movie that is being made to honor a great legend. I even surprise myself for talking so much. - John

Hello Jim, That was quite a review you wrote! Welcome aboard. ;D I first discovered this site last year, and felt compelled to get in-touch with Christine. She is definitely the pro! When The 5th Beatle is released on DVD, they should add a bonus feature with our Eppylover. Even better: she should be invited to participate in the commentary track! Brian; without a doubt, had more of an impact than most people acknowledge or realize! He was real (in no way superficial), and his heart never faltered. I am one of the younger fans, although my folks & associates have shared many Beatle tales. Anything that you can add to this growing library will be welcome. Lets hope this upcoming movie creates some ripples eh? I look forward to your next post & story.

i so agree-and thanks for your warm welcome
christine would make a splendid contributor to the commentary on the DVD you know if she were the voice-it would be accurate
it is so surprising to me that there is so little accurate information (legend) regarding brian
some of it must be attributed to the fact that in brian's absence, many have tried to spin their way into the tale-or attach themselves to the tale "after the fact " (goldman-quik buck artists) and the only way to do that is to alter perception/reality -or simply make up things that can not be challenged or due to the passage of time have no champion to challenge them
i hope the movie does what history has so far failed to do-simply give credit where credit is due looking forward to contributing what i can to this 'most special' place thanks jim

Hello all! My name's Euterpe and I am a lifelong Beatles fan who became keenly aware of Brian, and admired him, from a young age. Over the years he has intrigued me more and more. As time has passed I have become a bigger fan of Brian as a person than any of The Beatles. He makes the occasional, welcome appearance in my dreams, and always has a positive message for me, which he sometimes delivers by laughingly lip-synching a Beatles lyric. His friendly, intelligent visage currently graces my desktop. Quite simply, the man still inspires affection, admiration, respect, and loyalty, all these years after his passing. I can't wait for the movie! Dear Eppy, how can you not love him?

Euterpe, you rock! I've always wondered where all the Eppy lovers were hiding, because I knew I couldn't be the only one!!! Unfortunately, for nearly 40 years (1964-2004 or so) that did seem to be the case for me. Well, since about 1983, after Watergate made the revelation of dirty laundry and creation of scandal the hip thing, and that infernally spiteful The Love You Make came out, Brian Epstein's general public image still seems to be one of "creepiness" ~ it's nothing resembling the adoration that we, nor his artistes, felt for him back in the day. Later writers, many innocently, picked up on that green light of P.Brown's ~ and ~ *bob's yer (funny) uncle* ~ out of the closet and down the dumpster went our little golden god. In the intervening years, it seems every time I mentioned his name, anyone who still remembered him gave me the funny looks ~ almost disapproving. His legacy was raped, and Eppy lovers who dared to express their admiration for this man who made The Beatles were made to feel slightly like weirdos, outsiders. In the first few decades, I got a lot of "But he's dead, isn't he?" about Brian. Since so many fans of John's are around now, fans who weren't even born yet when he died, today's admiration for the dead Brian isn't considered to be quite as morbid as before, I suppose. I am both gladdened and saddened to realize that I was not the only one with this "problem" all these years. ...and I do seethe with envy that His Eppiness chooses to appear in YOUR dreamworld, Euterpe! And the bit with the Beatle lyrics is so like him. He studiously avoids mine ~ but that contrary behaviour fits right in with his wicked sense of humour. Stop being so annoyingly ironic, spirit of Eppy! LOL I'm forever grateful to the internet for making it possible for us to finally all Come Together over Brian Epstein!

LOL Next time he makes an appearance I will ask him to please look in on you. I have so many personally meaningful stories... Brian inspired me in my own modest work in the music industry: I managed a band, and the guitarist would phone me up and tell me to go after someone: "Be mean! BE PETER GRANT!" he'd exhort me; to which I would answer "But I'm not cut from Peter Grant cloth, I'm cut from Brian Epstein cloth!" With Eppy as my standard of conduct, I soon learned just how rare his qualities were and are in the business. It made me respect him even more. I'll get started on a tribute video ASAP.

Wow, I am impressed and love the fact that you, like Vivek, use Brian as your role model. And that you did act as manager to a group. Much more following of your dreams than I ever did. Even in my sleeping dreams. I'm so glad that I, at least, do find my Eppiness all over the innertubes since I started spreading it 4 or 5 years ago. Trying to learn the best ways to make the search engines find my Brianage took awhile, but IT WORKED. Unless something else comes of my life, I can look at that as a minor success. I'll get started on a tribute video ASAP. Please to make it happy / funny ~ I'm so sick of the sad, pathetic, pity-inducing tragic "Hide Your Love Away" vids. It would break his heart if he knew that's what we're mostly faced with since 1967 ~ even though everyone means well. That's not what he was all about ~ or at least it's not how he wanted to be seen or remembered. I'm sorry ~ I know that's a tall order, and probably impossible, considering the lack of lighthearted material that's been produced about him. *sigh* Why, why. why did he take that last Carbitral? HE COULDA HAD A V-8!!! *headsmack!*oops. sorry.

Eppy has always been a positive role model for me and I cannot help but think of him as a happy soul. I realize this makes me prone to the label of fanciful. I realize he had issues in life, but when you care about someone, you accept their shortcomings with compassion, and focus on their virtues. Any tribute I make to Mr. Brian Epstein will be joyful and positive.

Hello Lana, Welcome to the forum. I hope that you've discovered some fascinating goodies in the archives here? Eppylover & Yerblues1968 are also original Beatle fans, but the first 'wave' was before my time. Does it matter these days? - NOPE!!! I went to see the Beatles: LOVE show at the Mirage in Vegas this last June, and also Ringo perform here in Northern Nevada in July. Of course; Brian's story has become one of my favorite interests too. ;D New posts, info, and articles are always welcome. If there's "Anything that you want, if there's anything..." just let us know.

Hi all,
My name is Michelle and I have been a Beatles fan for about three days - my husband made me watch the Beatles Anthology because he didn't understand how I could be obsessed over Elvis but unappreciative of the Beatles...he thought he'd convert me if I knew anything about them. ... and he was right...although, I wouldn't use the term "convert" - there's room for both.
But - he didn't know I'd become so interested in Epstein - I was hoping there was a movie I could watch about him - which brought me to imdb.com ...and that brought me here!
So I'm probably not the same "caliber" of fans as you all are - but am still very, very excited to see this movie of the guy who fascinated me in the ...10 or so minutes of footage from the Anthology - I'm excited to see what 2 hours would do! :)

Hello, My name is Martha, I'm from Spain. I've been a beatle fan since.....well, always, got my first tape when I was 4. Brian has always been very special for me and I managed to travel to Liverpool last week to "see where it all had started" and visit Brian's grave. It was what emotioned me the most! Spending some minutes alone there. Although I found it quite abandoned actually. I'm very excited to see a movie about Brian. There's not much about him out there and thats a pity! He deserves MORE AND MORE! =)

Hello Martha, I'm Robin, and it's great to see a new face. Although the movie hasn't been released yet; other members still have contributed quite a few posts on this site (as you can see)! Wow! I don't know of any other people who've had a chance to visit the cemetery in Liverpool. Eppylover; though, does have an on-line friend who did visit last year. Was this your first trip to Liverpool? Thanks so much for the digital images. I hope one day to visit, and pay my respects as well. I became a devoted Beatles fan in 1995, when the ABC network aired "The Beatles Anthology." I saw Ringo in concert last July, and also saw the Cirque De Soleil production of "Love" last June in Las Vegas. As for Brian; I only learned about HIS devotion a couple years ago. You're right; it's so wrong for his contributions to be ignored & unappreciated. I really hope this upcoming film will finally bring Eppy the acknowledgment he deserves. I didn't quite know what you meant by the 'translation' on Brian's grave. Do you mean the Hebrew writing? Eppylover may be able to tell you. Again Martha; welcome here. ;D
