June 26, 2007 | 8:35 am "During an 18-month stint at the Daily Mail, one of Britain’s leading newspapers, I was on the night news desk and took a call from manager Brian Epstein. He raved to me about his new group The Goldbugs—before they were even known as The Beatles. He urged me to come and see the world’s next number one group play in a dingy nightclub cave in Hamburg, but my editor turned the trip down. So I called Brian back and told him to contact my opposite showbiz number at the Daily Express, Derek Taylor. Beatles fanatics know that Derek made the trip and wound up becoming The Beatles PR man and eventually president of their Apple records organization, while I immigrated to America and landed eventually on TV! The rest, as they say, is history." vegasblog.latimes.com/vegas/robin_leach/www.beatlesnews.com/blog/the-beatles/200707032249/champagne-wishes-and-beatles-dreams.htmlwww.vegasdeluxe.com/
