BEATLES WATCHES DUE TO ROLL OUT IN '09 licensing.biz Samantha Loveday Oct 17 2008, 10:12am Iconic images of band to appear on a special range of Zeon wristhingyches. One of the largest watch companies in the UK, Zeon has been licensed by Caroline Mickler Ltd, the firm in charge of implementing the Beatles brand licensing strategy on behalf of Apple Corps, to design Beatles-branded watches. The range will feature designs based on famous logos and album covers from the career of the Fab Four. About 20 watches are being planned at prices ranging from £30 to £80. The main market for the watches is expected to be the 30 to 60 year-old age group of both sexes which grew up during the group's heyday. The range will roll out in the first quarter of 2009, with the main retail outlets expected to be major UK department stores, as well as mail order catalogues, online vendors and TV shopping channels. "For more than 40 years, the Beatles have been a powerful influence on music, fashion and lifestyle and both their music and the art associated with it have become iconic," said Richard Tibber, MD of Zeon. "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring these unforgettable images to market." Caroline Mickler added: "Zeon combines long experience with high quality licensed products and a strong presence in the market. We are delighted to be working with Zeon on this exciting range."
